Check Out Connie's Resume!
Connie discovered the sport of eventing in 1985 and began training some of the ranch horses to jump and do dressage. Eventually, the sport exceeded the Quarterhorse ability and mentality and she began crossing Quarterhorses with Thoroughbreds. Still wanting to improve performance and ability she then bought the Thoroughbred mare, Military Mate, and bred her to Juvel, the Swedish stallion of Gwen Blake of Donida Farm. The resulting mare, Jeweliette, is currently being shown at Preliminary Level eventing.
Connie has since developed a small warmblood breeding program focusing on the Trakehner and Thoroughbred breeds to produce horses capable of competing at the highest levels of eventing and stay sound in the process.
Connie has also been involved in the development of a United States Pony Club chapter in Wallowa County and served as its District Commissioner for six years, and instructor for 14 years. She considers Pony Club to be the best organization in the country to start young riders off in any riding discipline. Located in full view of the magnificent Wallowa Mountain range in the corner of northeast Oregon, Mountain Aire Sport Horses and Pugs welcomes you to tour our site and get to know us. We are using some of the top modern warmblood lines in a small breeding program that offers youngsters and trained horses for the sports of dressage and eventing.
